Hit and run results in North Carolina wrongful death

Members of the North Carolina Highway Patrol are currently in pursuit of the vehicle responsible for the hit-and-run death of a 26-year-old man in Alamance County recently. Police state the seemingly wrongful death took place in the early morning hours along Interstate 40/85. Purportedly, the victim's body was found within close proximity of his own vehicle.

Investigators in North Carolina believe the car involved in the accident would have incurred substantial front end damage. Currently, police have no information pertaining to the make or model of the vehicle responsible for the wrongful death. Additionally, there is no description of the driver who failed to stop and render aid after striking the man.

Police were alerted to the incident after receiving information from a truck driver who saw what he believed to be an accident. Though the truck driver was able to alert authorities, he was apparently unable to offer additional information. Now, authorities in North Carolina are asking that anyone who might have information pertaining to the wrongful death and hit-and-run accident that took place on Interstate 40/85 to contact them immediately.

Car accidents can be emotionally draining despite the circumstances under which they take place. An instance like this one - an apparent wrongful death occurring from a hit and run - will undoubtedly put immense strain on the victims' friends and loved ones. With the aid of North Carolina law enforcement, it is possible that the victim's family will have the means to seek some form of legal recompense for this senseless tragedy.
