Creating an exit strategy

Transitioning from one job or career to another one can be difficult even for those who don’t like their occupation. However, there are steps that can be taken to make the transition as easy and timely as possible. At the outset, North Carolina residents who are in this position should create a support system to help guide themselves through the tougher times. This system could be family members, friends or others going through a similar career transition.

At first, it may not be possible to quit a day job or otherwise rely solely on a new career as a steady source of income. Accomplishing goals may be easier when they are objective. It may be a good idea to create a business plan with action steps and firm timelines for when certain goals will be achieved. Having a time frame and being accountable for staying within itcan be an effective and efficient way to stay on course.
