North Carolina crash leaves woman dead

The North Carolina Highway Patrol has confirmed the death of a 50-year-old woman in a collision between a car and a moped on Dec. 4. The deceased woman was the passenger on a moped driven by her 62-year-old companion. He suffered serious injuries in the crash and has been transferred to a Charlotte hospital for treatment.

Misdiagnosis in young adult stroke victims

Young adults in North Carolina who may be at risk of stroke may face medical complications if emergency room doctors fail to diagnose. 2 killed in wrong-way collision

On Nov. 29, a five-car crash in North Carolina resulted in the death of two people. The fatal collision took place in High Point at around 9:10 a.m. Shortly before the crash happened, multiple witnesses dialed 911 to report that they had seen a white SUV traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Wendover Avenue near Penny Road.

North Carolina woman killed in alleged speeding accident

A North Carolina woman is dead after a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Oct. 23 around 3:40 p.m. The 62-year-old woman was reportedly traveling west on N.C. 72 when her vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle being driven by a 25-year-old man.

National and state motorcycle accident statistics

Across the U.S., 93,000 motorcyclists suffered injuries and 4,957 motorcyclists died in traffic collisions in 2012, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The number of injuries was 15 percent higher than in 2011, and the death toll was 7 percent higher. In North Carolina alone, 198 motorcyclists died in 2012.

2 dead in fatal head-on collision on major freeway

North Carolina Highway officials report that a two-vehicle crash in Hendersonville County during the morning hours of Oct. 13 left two individuals dead. Police said that they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the auto wreck.
